This painting is part of my ongoing project ”Minnesbanken” in which I paint my teenage memories. This painting is inspired by the meetings between my dad during his time with cancer and a Buddhist munk. I wanted to capture their different appearances as I was fascinated by their likeness on the inside and the relationship they built. It was a big contrast for me as a teenager to come home to them talking, praying and singing in the lended hospital bed.
This painting is made with acrylics, waterbased oilpaint and oilpastels on canvas. 2026, signed in the back.
